monday monday...

sunday i spent my time dog searching and cooking for joe's week at school.  i also made some of my mom's homemade spaghetti sauce to freeze so i can stop buying disgusting jars of sauce.

passing it along!

Deb Girl's Pasta Sauce
Vegetable oil
1 medium onion - chopped
1-1/2 Tablespoons garlic - minced
1 pound ground beef
2-12 ounce cans tomato paste + 1-12 ounce can water (just use the paste can)
2-16 ounce cans tomato sauce  + 1-16 ounce can water (just use the sauce can)
1 tablespoon each: oregano, italian seasoning, basil
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
2 bay leaves

Coat the bottom of a heavy soup pot with oil and heat over med-high heat.  Add onion and garlic. Sautee together until onions are soft--add browned ground beef.  Add in tomato paste, sauce and water.  If sauce is too thick, add in more water. Add oregano, italian seasoning, basil and sugar. Pop in two bay leaves....Simmer for a few hours--the longer you leave it the better it tastes!
